Online Learning
Madrasah classes will Insha’Allah continue online upon the start of Term 3 which will be from Tuesday 1st September 2020. The method of joining online classes has not changed from the previous term, so please ensure any required equipment & books are ready before next Tuesday to avoid any delays. This decision is under constant review as we would like to welcome our pupils back to the Islamic Centre as soon as it is safe to do so.
Phased Reopening
Once local schools reopen, we are looking to start reopening classes from the Centrein a phased approach starting with the Hifz class. Upon the Hifz classes settling in, we will Insha’Allah be contacting individual parents to begin phasing in the next class as it becomes practical & safe to do so. Protective measures we are taking in light of coronavirus (COVID‐19) First and foremost, it goes without saying that the safety of your child and of our staff is our top priority. We are working hard, following the latest government guidance, to develop and implement enhanced methods of operating. This will allow us to open as safely as possible, focusing on measures that will help limit the risk of coronavirus transmitting within our evening madrasah classes.
Some of the steps we are taking in preparation for reopening include:
• Asking that anyone who is displaying coronavirus symptoms, or who lives with someone who does, not to attend the madrasah. That includes all teaching staff.
• Keeping our pupils with as much consistent staffing as possible, and minimising contact with other groups around within evening madrasah classes.
• Cleaning our hands more often than usual. We have developed routines to ensure pupils understand when and how to wash their hands, making sure they wash them thoroughly for at least 20 seconds using running water and soap and dry them thoroughly, or use hand rub sanitisers ensuring that all parts of the hands are covered.
• Ensuring our pupils understand good respiratory hygiene by promoting the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach. Parents are requested to send students with a small pack of tissues in case they need to use them after which they will need to put these into bins
provided throughout the centre.
• Implementing an enhanced cleaning schedule, ensuring surfaces touched by pupils and staff are cleaned regularly, including benches, door handles.
• Asking parents and carers to physically distance from each other and from staff when dropping off and collecting their children and to limit drop off and collection to one parent or carer per household.
• Parents dropping and collecting from Madrasah should adhere to the signs on the pathway, a member of staff will then call your child. Please note we will be unable to permit parents into the building.
• Please also note that drop off and collection times may vary from class to class to allow ease for parents, more details will be given to you before your child’s class begins on site.
What can parents and carers do to help?
There are a number of things parents and carers can do to help us make these arrangements effective, in addition to the points listed above concerning arrival and departure and not bringing toys to the madrasah.
1. If your child, or someone in the household has coronavirus symptoms please do not send your child to madrasah.
2. If your child becomes unwell whilst at madrasah, we request you to immediately collect your child and follow government guidelines as outlined in the link below https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/closure‐of‐educational‐settings information‐ for‐parents‐and‐carers
3. We want the return of our students back to the Islamic Centre to be as smooth as possible however we ask you to continue to reassure your children and explain to them that any changes they may see or feel are there for their own safety. We pray the Almighty grants us all ease during these difficult times. We are very mindful of the effect the last few months have had on all, young and old. Our intention and focus will always be on the spiritual, mental and physical well‐being of our pupils, with this in mind, if you have any concerns or queries regarding your child, please do not hesitate to get in
