SIGN THE PETITION: STOP THE OVERDEVELOPMENT
Development is an inevitable element of Maidenhead, and there is tremendous potential for making Maidenhead a truly unique and vibrant place. Most residents are excited to see plans to revitalise our town and support our councillors in pursuing a well-balanced and sustainable approach to urban growth.
Both the RBWM housings department itself and Thames Valley Police has sighted serious concerns with the plans which have been published on the RBWM planning portal.
However, development should not come at any cost. The proposed high-rise buildings of up to 11 storeys consisting of over 400 Flats at the former Magnet Leisure Site have no place in Maidenhead as they will undermine a sense of place, overshadow the town’s more human scale, set a precedent for further high rise buildings and increase pressure on already stretched local infrastructure
We hope that this petition can encourage the RBWM to do the right thing by ensuring the new development is both sensitive and sympathetic to its community.
URGENT Please sign this e-petition today as we only have a few weeks to the planning meeting:
