MAIDENHEAD MOSQUE RAMADHAN PROJECT 2016
Posted on: 06 June 2016
For the past 5 years Maidenhead Mosque has been working locally to help provide food and comfort for people who cannot afford to feed themselves.
Ramadhan is a special month of generosity and giving ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Amr ibn Al ‘Aas, narrated that a man once asked Allah’s Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam), ‘Which is the best of actions in Islam?’ He (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) replied, “Feeding others & extending the Salaam (peace) to those who you know and those you do not.” (At-Targeeb - Saheeh)
Throughout this blessed month of Ramadhan Maidenhead Mosque will be assisting to provide meals and special Ramadhan food for the homeless, disadvantaged and elderly, also delivering meals to shelters for women and children fleeing domestic violence.
If you would also like to share in the reward you can also benefit from volunteering opportunities or donating money or food, please contact email@example.com or call 07773 230413 JazakaAllah khair.
Al-Imaam Ash-Shaafi once said, “It is beloved to me to see one increasing his acts of generosity during the month of Ramadan, following the example of Allah’s Messenger, and for one’s own good. There are many who become over-occupied with fasting and Prayers, forgetting the other benefits of the month of Ramadan [i.e. forgetting about the benefits and rewards for being generous towards others].” (Lataa’if-ul Ma’aarif)
