Marriage

Within the mosque there is an availability of the Imam for Nikah reading and registration ceremony for those who wish to get married under Islamic law. The mosques are open for ceremonies to be held if the people choose to do arrange their Nikah at the mosque.  An official marriage certificate is issued from the mosque, the married couple are issued the original certificate and a copy is kept by the mosque.

The Nikah service is solely a religious ceremony consisting of a covenant and sacred contract between the bride and groom. For any marriage to be valid under UK law firstly you need a civil ceremony at the town hall to be legally recognised and valid.
